Purpose

We’re seeking a Field Services Team Lead to join our team and play a crucial role in delivering safe, reliable water service to our communities. In this role, you’ll lead and support field crews, oversee daily operations, and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards. Accountabilities

  • Lead and support Liberty staff and contractor crews in daily field operations
  • Oversee the repair and maintenance of water mains, meters, valves, fire hydrants, and service lines to ensure system reliability
  • Respond to and troubleshoot customer service issues in the field, escalating concerns as needed
  • Organize and manage meter reading schedules, lock-off schedules, and service orders to optimize efficiency
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and assigned vehicles while ensuring job site safety and regulatory compliance
  • Utilize PC tablets and software to process service orders and update customer information
  • Conduct water quality sampling, testing, and compliance reporting as needed
  • Assist in job planning, scheduling, and coordination with internal teams and external contractors
  • Ensure all work is performed in compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and environmental standards
  • Participate in weekly safety meetings and training sessions to support a culture of safety and continuous improvement
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned by the Supervisor of Field Service

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required
  • SWRCB Grade 3 Water Distribution Certificate and Grade 1 Water Treatment Certificate, or ability to obtain within 18 months
  • At least two years of experience in water utility operations, maintenance, or construction
  • Proficiency in meter reading, service installations, and basic construction methods
  • Ability to read blueprints, work orders, and technical manuals
  • Proficient in basic computer applications (Windows, CIS software, tablets, and communication devices)
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, especially in emergency situations
  • Ability to lead crews, train team members, and provide clear instructions
  • Strong communication skills, with a commitment to customer service and teamwork
  • Ability to work independently and responsibly, making sound field decisions
  • Valid California driver’s license with a clean driving record; Class A CDL may be required 
  • Ability to work standby, holidays, weekends, and overtime as needed
  • Must obtain CPR and First Aid certification

Compensation

Expected pay: $36.85 - $46.06 per hour

Full pay range: $36.85 - $55.28 per hour

*Liberty considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, education, training and skills, and geographic location. Base pay for this role is expected to fall within the min to mid-point.
