Responsibilities
- Offer technical direction on how to adopt and use the latest tools and technologies
- Coach, mentor and educate others in IT
- Leverage agile and DevOps to optimize delivery practices
- Implement batch and real time data solutions leveraging the open-source, big data ecosystem
- Build reusable data integration frameworks, data refinement layers and self-service reporting
- Be an advocate and evangelist of the micro services architecture and REST API vision
- Drive technical excellence within the technical community of practice
- Help educate others on API best practices
Qualifications
- 5+ years of relevant job experience with tangible examples of success in the role
- 3+ years of experience with Java and back-end frameworks (e.g., Spring Boot, Grails)
- 3+ years of database development knowledge (e.g., SQL Server)
- 3+ years of front-end languages (e.g., HTML/CSS, JavaScript) and frameworks (e.g., Angular 6 and higher versions)
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Azure DevOps)
- Experience with user authentication and authorization between multiple systems, servers, and environments (OAuth 2.0)
- Experience managing hosting environments, including database administration and scaling applications to support load changes
- Experience implementing automated testing platforms and unit tests.
Preferred
- Work experience within the P&C insurance industry
- Exposure to project development/planning, stakeholder/customer management, change management
- Understanding of user interface design and user experience principles
- Understanding of web standards, cross-browser compatibility, and responsive design
- Understanding of session management in a distributed server environment
- Experience with setup and administration of data preservation or backups
