This position is considered Safety-sensitive under the Oklahoma Medical Marijuana and Patient Protection Act.
SCOPE:
Responsible for assisting the Chief of Security and other Security personnel with the protection of OCHA residents and property, investigations, apprehension of suspected criminals and routine security functions. The work hours for this position are not standard and include weekends and evening shifts.
ACCOUNTABILITY:
Responsible to the Chief of Security through assigned supervisor.
EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED:
Performs daily patrol activities, detailed report writing, and court room testimony.
Must adhere to OCHA and Security Department policies and procedures.
Strong verbal and written communication skills and possess an excellent ability to interact with people.
Possess knowledge of state laws, criminal ordinances, and criminal procedures.
Maintain a good working relationship with City, County, State and Federal Law Enforcement agencies.
Must have the ability to demonstrate and maintain proficiency with firearm.
Monitor and reports potential security problems which could endanger OCHA personnel, residents or property.
The ability to read, comprehend, and applies printed rules, detailed orders, instructions, and training materials.
Display and maintain proficiency with computers, in penmanship, written communications.
Must possess the ability to maintain poise and self-control in stressful situations.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
REQUIRED:
High School Diploma, or equivalent. Ability to meet and satisfy the requirements set forth in Title 59, Oklahoma Statutes, Section 1750.4(H)(2) for Armed Security Guard. The ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with others, deal tactfully with the public, and retain proprietary information as confidential. Possess strong human relations skills. Possess a valid Oklahoma Drivers License with a satisfactory driving record. Must have and maintain the ability to comply with Authority attendance policies. Must possess and be able to maintain CLEET armed security license. Successfully complete an initial in-house training program.
PREFERRED:
Security schooling with experience in armed security or previous law enforcement experience or Military Police experience or a Degree in a related field.
PHYSICAL:
Day and night vision sufficient to identify people, items and places in low light/night environment. Hearing and speech sufficient to be able to communicate effectively in person and by radio/telephone. Ability to ent
