Job Description:

Johnson & Johnson MedTech Orthopaedics are looking for a Senior Director, Delivery Engineering Technology and Capital based in either Raynham, New Jersey; Pennsylvania; Florida; Leeds UK.

Johnson & Johnson announced plans to separate our Orthopaedics business to establish a standalone orthopaedics company, operating as DePuy Synthes. The process of the planned separation is anticipated to be completed within 18 to 24 months, subject to legal requirements, including consultation with works councils and other employee representative bodies, as may be required, regulatory approvals and other customary conditions and approvals. Should you accept this position, it is anticipated that, following conclusion of the transaction, you would be an employee of DePuy Synthes and your employment would be governed by DePuy Synthes employment processes, programs, policies, and benefit plans. In that case, details of any planned changes would be provided to you by DePuy Synthes at an appropriate time and subject to any necessary consultation processes.

Job Overview

The Senior Director, Delivery Engineering Technology and Capital is a critical leadership role responsible for driving manufacturing technology strategy, capital investment execution, and engineering delivery excellence across DePuy Synthes. This role partners closely with Manufacturing, Quality, R&D, Finance, and Supply Chain leaders to ensure capital programs and engineering solutions enable operational readiness, scalability, and long‑term business growth.

This position offers the opportunity to shape the future of manufacturing capabilities at DePuy Synthes—leading high‑impact capital programs, advancing digital and automation strategies, and building a high‑performing engineering organization that delivers safe, compliant, and efficient operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide enterprise and site‑level leadership for delivery engineering, manufacturing technology, and capital project execution within DePuy Synthes.
  • Define and execute capital investment strategies aligned to business priorities, capacity needs, and long‑range manufacturing plans.
  • Lead large‑scale, complex capital programs from concept through execution, commissioning, and handover to operations.
  • Drive standardization, best practices, and governance for engineering project management, design, and delivery.
  • Partner with Quality and Regulatory teams to ensure all engineering and capital initiatives meet applicable regulatory and compliance requirements.
  • Advance manufacturing technology, automation, and digital solutions to improve safety, quality, productivity, and cost performance.
  • Lead, develop, and mentor engineering leaders and teams, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and inclusion.
  • Collaborate with Finance on capital planning, budgeting, forecasting, and return‑on‑investment analysis.
  • Serve as a key stakeholder and decision maker in cross‑functional and executive forums related to manufacturing strategy and investments.

Qualifications

Education

  • Required: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Chemical, or related discipline).
  • Preferred: Master’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or Business (MBA).
