What You'll Do:

The Modeling & Physical Properties intern will work closely with our Process Modeling Consultant and process development teams.

  • Develop prioritized lists of components requiring additional or improved physical properties characterization
  • Eoordinate physical properties testing as needed. 
  • Conduct physical properties characterization on selected components and provide assistance to engineers as needed in developing process models. 
  • Search for available physical property data available in Lubrizol internal systems and open literature.
  • Coordinate physical property testing for Lubrizol materials.
  • Estimate and regress physical property parameters.
  • Work with process development teams to assess and prioritize physical property needs.
  • Collaborate with engineers to develop kinetics for selected processes, including
    • researching the open literature for relevant reaction mechanisms and kinetic rate constant values.
    • analyzing Lubrizol data to determine kinetic rate constants.
    • building reaction kinetics into Aspen Plus models.
  •   Provide assistance as needed in training engineers in the use of Aspen Plus and related software.
