We employ advanced computational biology, state-of-the-art discovery screening technologies, genetics, and human-centric cell systems to dissect pathophysiology and identify novel drug targets.
This laboratory-based position will focus on cell culture support for the development of large-scale qualitative and quantitative functional genomics screens utilizing human derived central nervous system (CNS) models. There is an overarching aim to characterize genes and genetic regulatory circuits involved in the control of cellular metabolism and advance discovery projects by performing in vitro experiments under partial supervision.
Essential Functions:
- Work in an in vitro setting using aseptic technique, passaging, expansion, cryopreservation, assessment of cell-line quality, and cell characterization
- Maintain mammalian cell cultures derived from iPSC and/or primary neuronal or glial models
- Utilize functional cell-based assays and support in the development of: immunoassays (western blot, ELISA, flow cytometry, immunofluorescence staining), fluorescent microscopy, and other imaging methods
- Operate and maintain standard lab equipment
- Document experimental plans and procedures timely with attention to detail
- Exhibit self-motivation and proactive attitude in designing and conducting experiments using state-of-the-art technologies
