Head of Bids/Bid Director (Ref.No. R1005899)
at our location in Singapore
You will enjoy having these responsibilities:
1) LEAD AND DEVELOP THE BID TEAM
• Lead a team of bid managers to perform at their best to deliver bids for different business lines and for different markets
• Act as Bid Manager for major bids when required according to business priority and needs
• Value-add to current bid team members for their career growth and leadership development in the organization
2) DEFINE AND EXECUTE THE CAPTURE PLAN
• Bridge with Senior Management, Deputize/Assist Capture Leader or Act as Capture Leader
• Lead and manage the capture team to define a winning strategy and execute detailed step plans
• Structure the appropriate successful capture strategy (including the necessary means) with the help of the capture team and under the guidance of Senior Management within the different Business Lines GBUs/ countries
• Monitor and tune the implementation of the capture strategy alongside the capture phase and align the actors inside and outside Thales (including partners / contractors / suppliers)
• Negotiate with the support of the account manager, the bid team
• Work with KAMs to the negotiation of the offer with the customer, with the support of the Bid Manager(s)
• Finalize and sign the best contract for both parties in accordance with the negotiation provided by Senior Management
3) COORDINATE INTERNAL NETWORK
• Profile, propose and veto the capture team members
• Coordinate and foster the team's organization and efficiency (Gate 0)
• Supervise and support the Bid Manager(s) in leading and coordinating the bid team(s)
4) MEASURE AND OPTIMIZE
• Own and present the business case at each milestone to Management (Gates, Senior Management meetings)
• Obtain from Management (according to MRBOA) the right to continue or not with the associated mandates
• Apply and drive the appropriate Bid process (Bid tailoring) with the support of the Bid manager(s)
• Alert, solve issues related to the opportunity by proposing and approving scenarios to successfully re-orient the Bid
You have:
• Successful team management and development track record
• Leadership/ability to master reassess its strategy (strategic thinking) and priority setting
• Technical background with strong inclination for commercial exposure
• A true team spirit, an entrepreneurial attitude, a drive to excel
• Solid understanding of the customer's business (expectations and stakes)
• ASEAN track record is required
• Shaping solutions out of complexity, deal with uncertainty
• Ability to make things happen, translate ideas to impact
• The ability to manage and influence a complex network of stakeholders
• Strong communications skills ensuring clarity with senior management, the client and the team
• Deal closing
• Master degree in Engineering/Business with at least 10 years of transportation (Railway) experience
• Risks & opportunities identification
