Senior Director of Risk Management Overview 

As the Senior Director of Risk Management, you will be responsible for people and departmental management by managing processes that drive best-in-class service across all levels of the administrative functions of the business.

Our ideal candidate is an adaptive leader and a skilled communicator with the ability to create buy-in from clients and employees alike. They will enthusiastically mentor and develop employees to align standards and achieve common operational goals. This role is designed for a white-glove home delivery expert who will leverage their industry expertise to ensure company safety/risk standards and goals are exceeded, including meeting delivery productivity and financial targets.

 

Pay

Annual Salary: $140,000 

 

 Responsibilities

(include, but are not limited to) 

  • Directly oversee management teams of multiple functions in support of a 3PL environment.
  • Manage and exceed budgetary expectations and financial objectives and provide accurate reporting for administrative areas under the purview of this position.
  • Continuously develop, train, and engage the Directors/Managers to address operational deficiencies and to drive positive results in measurable metrics.
  • Partner with corporate support teams that ensure the company is exceeding client expectations and IC goals in compliance, claims, weekly settlements, and routing.
  • Assist in analyzing risk and advise on management methods.
  • Create an environment of risk awareness and promote risk reduction by evaluating and monitoring potential areas of risk and implementing policies and procedures aimed at achieving the same.
  • Oversee management of safety policies, procedures, and education, as well as enforcement of DOT and FMCSA compliance, develop and implement policies, standard operating procedures, internal controls, monitoring, and reporting with the goal of improving operations, compliance policies, and risk management.
  • Insurance compliance for independent contractors and insurance claims resolution for in-home damage and automobile claims.
  • Other projects and assignments related to these responsibilities as needed.

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and 4 or more years of relevant experience, or 6-10 years equivalent combination of education and experience
  • At least 7 years of progressively responsible experience managing and leading administrative functions, preferably within the logistics industry. 3PL experience is strongly preferred.
  • Workers Compensation and OSHA experience preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, and Outlook
  • Knowledge of DOT regulation
  • Effective verbal and written communication
  • Experience creating and analyzing statistical and financial reporting.
  • Ability to make independent judgments that have considerable impact on the organization.
  • Proven ability to solve problems and create innovative solutions.
  • Balance customer satisfaction with cost-effectiveness
  • Create and execute detailed plans alongside the EVP.
