Job Summary:

We are seeking a talented User Experience (UX) Designer to join our team and lead the design of our SharePoint-based intranet. The ideal candidate will combine expertise in UX design principles with a deep understanding of SharePoint's capabilities to create an intuitive, engaging, and efficient intranet experience for our employees.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop user-centered SharePoint intranet solutions that align with business objectives and enhance employee productivity.

  • Create intuitive navigation structures, page layouts, and information architectures for SharePoint sites.

  • Partner with developers and cross departmental teams to gather requirements and assist in design of custom solutions while adhering to industry standards.

  • Conduct user research and usability testing to inform design decisions and continuously improve the intranet experience.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into effective UX solutions.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks at the same time, both from user submitted tickets to project work.

  • Leverage SharePoint's design tools and web parts to implement custom UI elements and functionality.

  • Develop and maintain design standards and best practices for SharePoint intranet sites.

  • Optimize the intranet for accessibility and ensure a consistent user experience across devices.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or related field.

  • 3+ years of experience in UX design, preferably with SharePoint or similar enterprise platforms.

  • Strong portfolio demonstrating intranet or web application design skills.

  • Proficiency in UX design tools (e.g., Sketch, Figma, Adobe XD).

  • Knowledge of SharePoint Online and Microsoft 365 ecosystem.

  • Familiarity with SharePoint's design capabilities, including web parts and PowerApps.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

  • Ability to balance user needs with technical constraints and business requirements.


TECHNICAL CAPABILITIES
• Human Factors Engineering (Novice): Possesses sufficient fundamental proficiency to successfully demonstrate Human Factors Engineering in practical applications of moderate difficulty. Develops innovative user interface designs in response to marketing requirements, user analyses, product innovation, technology, and business needs. Conducts research to understand consumer trends, needs, and physiological findings. Performs anthropometric, biomechanics, ergonomic and systems safety analyses to product development programs and proposals.
• Business Systems Analysis (Novice): Demonstrates the ability to conduct business systems analysis tasks in a team environment or independently to build or enhance a simple system. Has conducted the basic phases of business systems analysis including analyzing problem areas and preparing business requirements definitions.
• User Interface (Novice): Has worked with various levels of user management throughout the development of projects. Has participated in and conducted meetings with the user. Has kept the user informed of system status via standard reporting techniques. Has met the continuing service needs of a user group, including requests for changes in work content. Has met unplanned requirements without disruption in service levels. Demonstrated an orientation and sensitivity to customer service. Has successfully gained access to both customers and consumers.
