Job Description Summary:

PayPal Database team is responsible for fulfilling all database infrastructure needs of PayPal site. This include running infrastructure as code, building automation to do provisioning, monitoring and building tools like failover tool, patching tool, drift detection and auto remedy tool, goldengate replication dashboard and many more. This includes site database reliability, engineering, new database builds, deploying schema changes to production databases while maintaining DB availability targets, implementing security policies, managing PP development databases, working on various design patterns and scripting to automate. We are looking for an exceptional Database engineer to join our OLTP team to support our mission critical databases. The ideal candidate will enjoy various aspects of Database Administration, DevOps and Engineering and have opportunities to work on cutting edge technologies within Oracle, GoldenGate Replication. Expert level in Python is must, including experience with GitHub, Oracle Apex will be a big plus.

Responsibilities:

· Triage incidences and identify root causes. Propose corrective/preventive actions and complete such actions

· Develop scripts and other forms of automation for routine tasks.

· SQL review/tuning and suggest areas of improvements

· Follow change management and security guidelines and execute critical change requests

· Install, upgrade and patch databases

· Document known solutions to enable faster rediscovery.

· Provide quality customer satisfaction. Able to gel with a large team of DBAs, Operations groups, Capacity, and ETL team and willing to share knowledge.

· Must be able to Multi-task and prioritize without much supervision.
