As an RN on this team, you will assist fellow caregivers in delivering exceptional care, from the pre-op stage all the way through recovery and discharge. In this role, you will interact directly with patients, families and visitors, offering the opportunity to enhance their experience and supply healthcare information as needed.   • Our Center for Workplace Violence Prevention and Caregiver Well-Being sets caregiver safety as a priority, identifying, reporting and responding to incidents and providing safety resources. 

A caregiver in this position works PRN (as needed) variable shifts from 11:00 a.m. – 11:30 p.m. OR 5:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. with on-call, weekend and holiday rotation requirements.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:  

  • Provide direct nursing care. 
  • Implement and monitor patient care plans.  
  • Monitor, record and communicate patients’ conditions.  
  • Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.  
  • Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.  
  • Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs. 

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

  • Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing  
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)  
  • External candidates: two years of recent related nursing experience  
  • Internal candidates with less than two years of experience, but are post-orientation/90-day probationary period, may be considered with CNO level review and approval 
  • Licensed military RN experience will be considered  
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) 
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support through the American Heart Association (AHA) within orientation period

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: 

  • Bachelor of science in nursing (BSN)
