Retail Lending HMDA Specialist

The Retail Lending HMDA Specialist has the primary responsibility of performing review of real estate secured transactions to confirm HMDA status for consumer lending. Responsibilities include entering and reviewing HMDA data, correcting errors, compiling reports and assist with maintaining the related internal policies and procedures. This position will work with the leaders of the Retail Lending Administration team to respond to ongoing internal and external HMDA audit and compliance reviews.   

Responsibilities

• Complete entry of HMDA reportable adverse action and withdrawn files into Compliance Reporter.
• Perform review of consumer real estate secured transactions to verify HMDA status and make necessary corrections.
• Complete monthly export from LaserPro to Compliance Reporter and provide to Compliance team.
• Perform Monthly/Quarterly Validation of reportable and non-reportable Real Estate secured transactions.
• Collaborate with senior management to research questions and find resolutions.
• Communicate deficiencies identified in reviews.
• Collaborate with team members to gather data for inquiries received by audit or compliance during the HMDA audits.
• Collaborate with team members to conduct research pertaining to HMDA audit findings and audit responses.
• Assist with tracking and implementation of appropriate changes in response to audit findings.
• Assist with product and policy development by gathering resources and collaborating with legal and compliance teams.
• Maintain a current and thorough working knowledge of the HMDA regulatory requirements affecting consumer loans and loan policies.
• Maintain proficiency with PC software used by the bank for e-mail, word processing and spreadsheet work as needed for tasks at hand.
• Attend appropriate consumer lending meetings as scheduled.
• Provide a superior level of customer service to all internal and external customers. Answer phone calls and email messages, research questions, and provide prompt, professional responses.

Education, Experience, and Other Expectations

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration or similar field; or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of two years of experience and extensive knowledge in all aspects of consumer loan documentation and/or regulations.
• Experience with HMDA preferred.
