Our work depends on a Senior Small Business Advocate to join our Small Business Office (SBO) team in our small business (SB) outreach, reporting, and proposal efforts. This position will understand, maintain, and disseminate knowledge of SB requirements and their impact on GDIT’s current business base and future growth. You will support GDIT subcontracting commitments and growth opportunities by facilitating, developing, and maintaining small business relationships, participating in outreach events, supporting reporting activities, and advising on the creation of SB plans. The SBO Team is instrumental in maintaining GDIT's reputation as an industry leader in small business mentorship and support.
HOW A SENIOR SMALL BUSINESS ADVOCATE WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:
- Serves as a Subject Matter Expert for divisional support related to small business utilization.
- Supports the Small Business Liaison Officer (SBLO) in data-gathering and analysis for reporting ISRs, SF294s and SSRs into the eSRS system or as directed. Able to lead and manage small, short-term project teams related to SF294 bi-annual reporting.
- Aids in maintenance of reporting documents, files, correspondence, tracking databases and other appropriate and applicable items.
- Aids with Subcontracting plan administration, analysis, and reviews of subcontracting goals for the utilization of small businesses in accordance with contract requirements. Assists in monitoring subcontracting performance to achieve overall subcontracting plan goals.
- Generates and tracks success stories and small business award nominations achieved in support of SB advocacy.
- Maintains an understanding of SB legislation and customer requirements in order to provide advisory and strategic support applicable to GDIT proposals, contracts, and subcontracts as they relate to SB participation and subcontracting plans.
- Aids with proposal development, including proposing template language, editing, and reviewing small business participation plans.
- Conducts searches for viable SB teaming partners based on parameters provided by Growth and other managers and provides data and analysis reports though the use of various databases, professional contacts, government small business specialists, and other sources of information.
- Analyzes existing and potential small business teaming partners and develops working knowledge of SBs, their capabilities, and other relevant qualifying criteria. Facilitates connections of SBs that have a strong fit with GDIT requirements with GDIT stakeholders.
- Leads the SBO in organizing and preparing for trade shows, panels, conferences, and meetings with government SB offices.
- Responds to small business inquiries promptly and communicates with them as needed to include providing guidance, education, and support.
- Assists in maintenance and updates of GD SB databases, intranet sites and webpages.
- Maintains current knowledge of GDIT services and general knowledge of General Dynamics capabilities and major programs.
- Assists in providing basic training on reporting, subcontracting plans, participation plans, SB resources, tools and processes.
- Participates in special projects as required (including GD committees and GDIT working groups) and performs all other position-related duties as assigned or requested.
- Performs general administrative duties as needed, including expense claims, travel arrangements, P-Card use and processing, and others.
