Right of Way Maintenance Coordinator

Position Summary

Responsible for supervising contractors, performing contract administration duties associated with initial clearing and maintenance of vegetation on and around Tri-County Electric Cooperative distribution facilities, and maintenance of overhead and underground facilities via routine inspection processes. This includes but is not limited to completing daily field activities promoting corporate initiatives to successfully achieve safety, reliability, and financial objectives within the Right of Way department. Respond to any emergency situations in relation to vegetation removal (Outages).

Essential Job Functions:

• Manage contractor efforts through coordination with the contractor's supervisory personnel and crews to maximize contractor safety, efficiency, effectiveness, and end-product quality as per contractual requirements. Perform field administrative duties while ensuring contractual controls including adherence to both technical and administrative functions (timesheets, project details, budgets, etc.) and associated requirements.
• Proactively manage customer issues acting as the liaison to key community individuals, special interest groups, local, state, and federal officials and/or agencies to comply with regulations and cooperatively manage concerns related to contracting operations. Maintain a high level of member satisfaction in contracting activities through swift response and resolution of member issues. Document and ensure consistency amongst contractors.
• Keep abreast of technical improvements in the industry and the contracting field through industry networking and professional publications. Obtain and retain professional credentials by pursuing available continuing educational opportunities.
• Ensure annual work performed is completed in full compliance with contracts, vegetation management and asset management work plan, and successfully executed within the allocated budget. Assume fiscal responsibility for project assignments and daily emergent work activities.
• Actively participate in the advancement of the program through completion of special assignments and daily assigned tasks.
• Support the coordination of program functions such as: contract scope specifications, field administration and member interface, and conducting of a member information program that enhances member confidence and understanding of utility arboriculture.
• Keep the Right of Way Manager informed of work in progress and completed work and ensures ongoing consultation relative to any problems that hinders the efficient completion of the duties and responsibilities associated with this position.
• Work with GIS Department to ensure that the correct process is being used to update GIS and test to ensure that the correct updates are being done and pushed out to the field maps.
• Work with the Operations Department to review standards and to help set specifications.
• Inform the Operations Department regarding needs as found from field problems and advises and assists in the development of long-range system planning, as requested, or required.
• Confer with Operations Department personnel to advise and assist with the proper scheduling of maintenance, operation, and construction activities and to assist with solving problems associated with any matters.
• Operate and/or assist with drone inspections.
• Confer with, advise, inform, and direct cooperation with other internal departments to assure compliance with the goals and objectives of the cooperative.
• Maintain friendly cooperative relationships with the members and the public in the performance of the duties and responsibilities associated with this position.

Position Requirements

• Education Requirements
  • High school diploma or graduate equivalency diploma (GED). Preferred Bachelor's Degree in Forestry, Arboriculture, or related field.
• Experience
  • 5 years' experience overhead line construction and/or utility integrated vegetation management (IVM), knowledge of electrical operations and construction methods, safety.
  • Preferred International Society of Arboriculture Certified Arborist.
  • Preferred experience with a rural electrical distribution cooperative.
  • Preferred FAA Part 107 certification.
  • Ability to work independently with a minimum level of supervision.
