The Boeing CompanyThe Boeing Commercial Aircraft (BCA) Payloads organization is seeking Payloads New Features Engineers (Associate or Experienced) to join our 777X Team in Everett, WA.
The Payloads Organization is responsible for everything you see when you fly; and much of which you don’t. The Interiors of the airplane, along with the cargo compartments, exterior markings, associated systems, and cabin safety all make up Payloads. We are how our airline customers fulfill their mission and represent their brand and shape how the public experiences flight. Our organization is a fast paced, dynamic environment, which pulls from many engineering backgrounds.
Payloads New Features Engineers are responsible for cross commodity design for customers who are interested in unique interior architectures. This position requires the ability to work with a diverse set of stakeholders, communicate with executive leadership and customers located around the world.
Payloads is seeking candidates with experience in the following areas:
Product development, design, or innovation.
Requirements verification, management and validation.
Managing or integrating a portfolio or engineering projects.
Knowledge of standard engineering practices, interface definition, design development, engineering documentation, and option structure.
Engineering support of a manufactured product.
Direct engagement working with external stakeholders and executive leadership.
Our team is currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including Associate (Level 2) and Experienced (Level 3) Payloads New Features Engineers.
Position Responsibilities:
Assists to develop, integrate and document structural and interior payload system requirements to establish the system design.
Develops, maintains and modifies basic structural and interior payload system and component designs, using 3-D Computer Aided Design tools and/or other design methods, to provide product definition to other engineering groups, production operations, suppliers and external customers throughout the product lifecycle.
Performs tests to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications.
Assists with supplier development, test and production activities and coordination with the supplier to optimize the design and achieve program goals.
Supports investigation of emerging technologies to develop concepts for future product designs to meet projected requirements.
Works under general supervision.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus on Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace, Aeronautical or Material Sciences)
1+ years of experience in aerospace engineering, design criteria and engineering release processes
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
5+ years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Basic understanding and demonstrated experience with FAA Title 14 Part 25 and/or EASA equivalent.
Experience in aerospace interiors, materials and properties, design criteria and release processes.
2+ years of experience in program or project management, leading project and/or program proposals of varying complexity (including: development and execution of schedule milestones, financial assessments, resource assessments, risk and/or issues management, etc.).
Experience working in a cross-functional team.
Demonstrates good problem solving skills and critical thinking
Ability to use a variety of media to clearly convey information and ideas to a variety of audiences
Demonstrated interest in continuous personal learning and development
