Deburrer - 3rd Shift

Eaton’s IS AER FMC division is currently seeking a Deburrer - 3rd Shift at our N Charleston, SC facility! The hours for third shift are 11:00 pm - 7:00 am Monday - Friday.
The hourly rate for this position is $19.50 - $21/hour + $2.50 shift differential..
Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
What you’ll do:
Position overview:
This position requires the ability to deburr complex parts and visually inspect for defects while maintaining manufacturing productivity and standards. Parts may include multiple manufacturing process steps within the deburrer operations. Ensure quality compliance of all parts following customer specifications and internal drawings and procedures. May train more junior staff in deburrer procedures.

In this function you will:
• Perform repetitive manual deburring and polishing operations, keeping parts in quality compliance and following manufacturing process steps.
• Rework parts that have damage from the manufacturing process.
• Follow control/process plan to determine which deburr tools to utilize.
• Read and follow process sketch or control plan.
• Deburr outside of required parts (tops of bores, O.D. edges, Kingsbury slots, break edge on oil holes and counter bores, etc.)
• Inspect parts and ensure the proper finish and/or flatness
• Perform set up and operate the coining press and drill press machines.
• Visually inspect parts determining defects (i.e. machining operations, rust vs. heat-treat scale, etc.) and advise supervision of issues.
• Performs precision deburr inside of parts (i.e. kidneys, undercuts, back of splines, c’bores, break edges on oil holes, burrs in oil holes and flanges of shoes, bearings, piston and rods, etc.)
• May perform assembly operations including lee plug, broaching, bearings, and helicoils
• Maintain manufacturing productivity and safety standards.

Required Qualifications:
• Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
• This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee
• Relocation is not offered for this role. Candidates must reside within a 50-mile distance of the N. Charleston, SC facility (zip code 29418) to be considered. Active Duty military are exempt from the geographical requirement
• 1 year of prior work experience
Preferred qualifications:
• Prior experience in machining, deburring, honing or lapping parts in a manufacturing environment.
Position Criteria:
• Ability to perform manual deburring and finishing operations using a variety of hand and powered tools like speed cutters, drivers, haft motors.
• Strong visual inspection skills
• Strong time management skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Able to perform basic shop math
• Able to demonstrate mechanical aptitude
• Ability to learn equipment and processes for fabrication of aerospace parts, produce parts in accordance with the production plans, sketches and/or verbal instructions.
• Ability to maintain close tolerance dimensions on critical parts.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, sketches, manufacturing routings, procedures, and routers.
• Good verbal and written communication skills a must.
• Ability to logically solve problems and to keep assignments and projects moving in an orderly and structured fashion
• Ability to select and operate appropriate deburring tools based on control plans and part specifications.
• Experience handling a variety of finishing tools and equipment, including powered and manual systems.
