Staff DevX Engineer - Full Stack

About Maze
Maze is the user research platform that helps companies build the right products faster by making user insights available at the speed of product development.
In most companies, research demand far exceeds supply. Time, cost, and lack of access to expertise hold teams back. In today’s AI-powered world, anyone can build a product fast. The real challenge? Deeply understanding user needs and building the right product. That’s where Maze comes in.
We believe companies shouldn’t have to choose between building fast and building right. Maze makes research accessible, intuitive, and fast so product teams can put user insights at the center of every decision.
Our platform enables researchers, designers, and product managers to quickly recruit participants, run studies autonomously, and surface insights that actually drive product decisions. Our AI capabilities automate the busywork and add depth and direction to the insights themselves.
That’s why Maze was recently named the #1 user research platform in UX Tools’ Design Tools Survey—and why we’re scaling fast across industries like B2B SaaS, e-Commerce, Financial Services, Retail, and Automotive, supporting world class customers such as Uber, Amazon, Atlassian, Anthropic & more.
Maze is a Series B company backed by top-tier investors (Felicis, Emergence & Amplify). We operate a global remote workforce driven by our core values.

Design and build developer tools, frameworks, and infrastructure that enable rapid software development
Architect scalable pipelines, low-latency infrastructure, and testing platforms; preferably using AWS services
Lead technical decisions around monorepo tooling, CI/CD workflows, and developer productivity
Drive technical standards and best practices for platform and development workflows across engineering teams
Help establish technical roadmaps that balance innovation with stability and developer productivity
Developer Experience & Enablement
Build and maintain monorepo tooling, including package management and release management
Ensure the local development environment is developer-friendly, and onboarding and documentation for services are up to date
Establish and extend CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, optimized for scale and developer velocity
Design monitoring, observability, and debugging tools that improve developer velocity
Build automation and tooling that reduces manual work and accelerates feature delivery
Optimize performance of developer tooling (e.g., memory consumption, TypeScript compilation speed)
Ensure the local development environment is developer-friendly, and that onboarding and documentation for services are up to date
Design monitoring, observability, and debugging tools for AI systems that improve developer velocity
Build automation and tooling that reduces manual work and accelerates feature delivery
Team Enablement & Speed
Identify and eliminate friction points in the development process that slow down engineering teams
Build and optimize development workflows, testing frameworks, and deployment processes
Create self-service tools and platforms that enable teams to be autonomous and move faster
Implement metrics and monitoring to measure and improve team velocity and code quality
Drive adoption of best practices that improve both development speed and software quality
Reliability, Security & Operations
Lead efforts in incident management and vulnerability management to ensure system reliability and security
