Job Duties

The College of Agriculture/Cooperative Extension provides programs and services to improve the educational and socio-economic well-being of students, families, ad communities- focusing on excellence through integrated instruction, research and extension programs.

The Grant Specialist is responsible for maintaining the integrity of the financial requirements. To be a resource for grant administration activities. Interact with the University's accounting staff to reconcile and correct grant accounts on a monthly basis.


This is a restricted, grant-funded position, and continued employment is contingent upon the ongoing availability of funding.

Minimum Qualifications

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES AND/OR COMPETENCIES REQUIRED TO SUCCESSFULLLY PERFORM THE WORK:

- Thorough knowledge of and experience with federal grant regulations, including OMB Circulators and A-133 and the ability to successfully interpret and apply those regulations and guidelines.

- Superior computer skills in the area of spreadsheet applications, databases, Adobe Acrobat and PowerPoint.

- Excellent problem-solving skills, organizational, interpersonal communication (verbal and written) and customer service skills required.

- Practical knowledge of the project management process.

- Skilled in managing multiple projects concurrently, deadlines and changing priorities.

- Extensive knowledge of state procurement guidelines/requirements to include the ability to develop RFP's.

- Ability to effectively communicate both written and orally.

- Knowledge of MS Office experience is a must.

- Must have professional, positive, entrepreneurial attitude and adhere to confidentiality of records and information.

- Working knowledge of eVa, Banner, Reeport.

- Must be able to work independently and make sound recommendations and decisions to resolve problems and make improvements.

Additional Considerations

PREFERRED:

- Graduation from a college or university with major studies in business; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
