What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a healthcare location.
  • Perform armed post duties in accordance with Allied Universal policies, state and local laws, and client site requirements, including maintaining required permits, certifications, and qualifications.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols of buildings, entrances, parking areas, and the perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity; working environments and conditions may vary by location.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including medical emergencies, disturbances, suspicious activity, and fire and/or severe weather events.
  • Support access control by monitoring entry points, checking identification and/or credentials as directed, managing visitor sign-in processes, and assisting with wayfinding and de-escalation when needed.
  • Monitor alarms, cameras, and other security-related systems, and communicate observations and status updates to site contacts and/or dispatch per post orders.
  • Use verbal de-escalation techniques and crisis intervention methods to help resolve conflicts, including interactions involving stressed patients and/or family members.
  • Document patrols, incidents, and actions taken using written reports and electronic reporting tools, maintaining detailed and timely logs.
  • Coordinate with healthcare staff, local law enforcement, and emergency responders when requested, providing clear information and maintaining scene control until additional resources arrive.
  • Maintain control of assigned equipment and site keys, follow chain-of-custody procedures for found property and evidence, and complete required checks and inventories per post orders.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • Provide proof of a high school diploma or GED as required by the client.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Being able to lift up to 20 pounds is preferred.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
