Where the chemistry happens…

Under the direction of the Sr Director –Site Services, the Sr. Logistics Manager has the overall responsibility for the Logistics Function on the Geismar Site. This role is responsible for providing Customer, Operations, and Business level support through cooperation with Site businesses, supervision of BASF and contractor personnel, and development of logistics strategies and procedures for the Geismar.

As a Sr. Logistics Manager, You Create Chemistry By...

 

• Being the primary logistical planner for the Site.
• Participating as necessary on Site and corporate teams to provide logistics input for strategic and tactical projects and initiatives.
• Managing and controlling assigned personnel to ensure safe and cost-effective shipment of products and materials by all modes of transportation.
• Administering contract for rail switching and track maintenance to ensure safe and efficient rail operations within the Site.
• Establishing and maintaining liaison with individual plant functions at all levels to provide shipping process integrity and continuity.
• Maintaining close liaison with Central Logistics functions to coordinate and ensure proper and timely implementation of corporate initiatives.

If you...

• Have obtained a Bachelor’s degree or higher in a technical, business, logistics, or related field, or  related experience.  BASF recognizes Institutions of Higher Education that are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent.
• Have a working knowledge of rail, truck, marine, and air shipment procedures, rules and regulations, and documentation requirements.
• Posses thorough business process knowledge and experience with shipments between the site, 3rd party facilities and customer locations.
• Are experienced with budgetary planning, preparation, and execution.
