Scope:
The clinical coordinator reports to the Project Manager (PM) and is clinically supervised by the medical providers within the Occupational Health Services (OHS) vertical. The clinical coordinator monitors, organizes, and manages the daily activities of the onsite health clinic which involves managerial duties as well as some level of examinee care. The clinic serves Federal and commercially contracted employees, temporary visitors, and Foreign Animal Disease Diagnostician (FADD) school students. The clinical coordinator manages the medical care of examinees, and acts as a liaison between examinee, examinee’s supervisor, the occupational health and safety representative, on-site human resource representative, off site affiliated network facilities and onsite health care professionals. The clinical coordinator monitors the budget, assists with hiring and training staff, and implements clinic policies, procedures, and protocols. The clinical coordinator reports to the registered nurse onsite. This is a casual position and hours may vary based on project requirements. The clinical coordinator is scheduled to report to the PIADC facility as scheduled.

Candidate must be within commuting distance to the Plum Island, NY area.

Hourly rate is $28.79.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Clinical skills include ability to obtain vital signs, specimen processing, vision screening, audiometric testing, pulmonary function testing, electrocardiogram, and respirator fit testing as needed.
• Perform clinic audits and daily quality checks (vaccine units, AED, point of care testing and sanitation log).
• Perform periodic medical record quality assurance audit.
• Serve as primary certified urine drug collector and is responsible for preparing and shipping specimens to the designated testing center.
• Audits examinee’s medical data, including health history, results of physical examination and diagnostic results.
• Ensure examinee’s charts are accurate and properly completed in preparation for the final medical evaluation by the reviewing physician.
• Ensure proper scheduling of medical surveillance appointments and tracks completion of requirements of Occupational Health and Safety Program (e.g. medical exams, training).
• Coordinate medical consultation for “return to work” clearances following occupational health injury, illness, or surgical procedure.
• Maintain all health records in accordance with privacy laws, medical protocols, Acuity International and the Department of Homeland (DHS) policies.
• Ensure compliance with regulations, guidelines, and industry standards.
• Exercise exceptional attention to detail.
• Maintain a solid understanding of the specific contract’s guidelines, requirements, and addendums.
• Collaborate with the OHC team of medical providers, nurses, clinical coordinator, and administrative staff for efficient project management.

• Ensures health information security and privacy when managing medical data, including health history, physical examination, and diagnostic results.
• Consult with onsite physician and Acuity International corporate team when appropriate.
• Coordinate examinee healthcare by liaising with all necessary care providers, supervisors, and leadership to ensure examinees healthcare needs are met.
• Use computer software to monitor examinee clearance status, coordinate follow-up appointments, and coordinate referrals as needed.
• Participate in departmental meetings and remain up to date on business initiatives related to the OHC.
• Collect, analyze, and generate reports from database.
• Coordinate itemized billing and provide reports as needed.
• Actively participate in corporate and client meetings.
• Communicate with examinees and supervisors to ensure their needs are being met and anticipate potential issues to resolve them in a timely manner.
