Job Description:

Advanced Practice Provider (PA)   

Lahey Hospital and Medical Center   

Cardiothoracic Surgery 

Join our renowned Cardiothoracic Surgery team at Lahey Hospital & Medical Center, a leading 345-bed tertiary care center near Boston! 

About the Role: 

As an Advanced Practice Provider (PA), you'll play a vital role in managing post-operative Cardiothoracic Surgery patients in the ICU, PCU, and Telemetry units.  

Responsibilities include: 

  • H&Ps, daily notes, discharge summaries 

  • Inpatient & ER consults/admissions 

  • Post-operative care planning & follow-up 

  • Rotating coverage: Telemetry, PCU, OR, on-call (including nights/weekends) 

  • 24/7 in-house APP coverage & OR first assist call (rotating schedule) 

Experience: 

  • Surgical first assist experience (Cardiac & Thoracic) 

  • Endoscopic Vein & Open Radial Artery Harvest skills 

  • Familiarity with Robotic Thoracic Surgery 

  • Strong post-operative management skills (Cardiac & Thoracic) 

  • Proficiency in chest tube, central/arterial line placement/removal 

  • Removal of temporary pacing wires, Swan-Ganz, IABP, sutures and staples 

  • ICU management post-op (ventilators, inotropes, vasoactive meds, circulatory support) 

Qualifications: 

  • Accredited PA program graduate 

  • Minimum 2 years Cardiothoracic Surgery experience 

  • MA State License (or eligible) 

  • Current BCLS/ACLS certification 

  • Ability to thrive in a high-acuity, collaborative environment 

  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and emotional intelligence
