Payroll Accounting Technician - Client Advisory Services

About the role

Summary

The primary purpose of this position is to provide financial support to our clients through payroll accounting expertise. This position will train with and learn from our Client Advisory Services team to gain technical excellence and deliver top client service.

Essential functions

  • Serve clients by processing payroll for clients
  • Communicate with clients on questions, changes, or issues that arise
  • Collect, compile, and enter payroll data gathered from various sources
  • Assist clients with changes such as rate and deductions
  • Process payroll by established deadlines
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Work environment

Work to be performed in HORNE office setting or remotely

 

Physical demands

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds at times.

 

Required education and experience

  • General knowledge of payroll and accounting procedures
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and other relevant accounting software
  • Proficiency in data entry and 10-key with minimal error rate
  • Basic Accounting Principles
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Ability to manage and organize work
  • Strong Written and Verbal communication skills

Preferred education and experience

  • Ability to learn new skills and platforms as needed for new projects
  • Aptitude for self-guided learning on new technology
  • Experience with a prior public accounting internship or employment is a plus
  • Experience with QuickBooks and other accounting software is a plus.
