Job Description
Role Summary: The Tech 5 will be on-shift ensuring uninterrupted operational excellence, line performance, and quality of the entire glass line. The Tech 5 is responsible for shift leadership and coverage. The responsibilities of a Technician 5 build upon what is expected of a Technician 1, 2, 3, and 4.
Role Accountabilities:
Individuals in this role will be responsible for…
- Cleaning & 5S of the entire production line
- Coordination and communication with process control engineer, plant leadership team, and MAGMA Manufacturing Development squads
- Line safety and being the emergency point of contact and evacuation leader
- Communications such as production and shift reports, production confirmations, ware release, and ware hold
- Being the job change leader
- Assisting the other Technicians with maintenance, troubleshooting, and achieving operational excellence, including electrical repairs, programming, motor changes, hi-vac maintenance, and other specialized tasks
- Abatement system fault finding
- Finer radar gauge adjustments
- Forming electronics maintenance, diagnostics, and change outs and machine blower maintenance
- Repair and maintenance of lehr and packaging equipment, including palletizer, carton erector, case packer, and stretch wrapper
- Monitoring and improving electrical and control systems, including PLCs, HMIs, and medium voltage switchgear

Qualifications
Critical Knowledge & Competencies:
Individuals in this role should have…
- High School Diploma or GED required; technical focus preferred
- Electrical or electro-mechanical trade certificate or equivalent
- 10+ years of manufacturing or production experience preferred
- 10+ years of maintenance experience preferred
- Ability to set-up and operate equipment
- Ability to work on high voltage systems up to 2400V, preferred
- Controls system experience
- Familiarity with industrial high-temperature processes and controls, preferred
- Diagnostics, fault-finding and troubleshooting experience
- Experience leading teams and managing shifts
- Ability to build relationships and lead by influence
- Effective communication
- Basic computer knowledge to include experience with MS Office or similar desktop related applications
- Proficiency in SAP, preferred
- Ability to work to a shift schedule (day and night shift, 12 hours)
- Ability to occasionally perform physically demanding job tasks:
- Lift or carry <50lbs
- Bend, stretch, twist or reach out
