Assistant Merchandiser, Womens
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assistant Merchandiser Women’s RTW supports the Senior Merchandiser Women’s RTW on managing Merchandising and Product Development related activities.
- Execute seasonal product assortment through product/business input, sales/margin accountability and pricing strategies to meet the financial target.
- Identify product and category opportunities based on market trends and consumer insights, while always strive for global consistency (put brand first) and local relevancy.
- Act as the cross-functional liaison to execute seasonal assortments from concept through commercialization against ESPRIT product & sourcing strategy.
- Partner up with business partners (Design, Product Development, Marketing, Planning, DTC and Wholesale) to deliver profitable customer-focused quality product that continues to drive the business.
- Adhere to Development and GTM calendar across all channels and departments to effectively prepare for key milestones.
DETAILS
- Act in dual role – supporting Global Merchandising, as well as NA Regional Merchandising
- Gather regional financials, competitor insights, and DTC (incl ECOM) & Wholesales market needs each season to develop the seasonal assortment plan (that offer both basics and fashion)
- Support the Senior Merchandiser Women’s RTW on the global product assortment brief to Design every season.
- In partnership with Global Design, identify potential gaps in the line plan, make recommendations for improving the assortment for the regions.
- Actively research the competition and trend insights, proposing pricing strategies and recommending marketing standpoints to keep ESPRIT ahead of its competitors
- Closely analyse SKU plan seasonally. Review historical and in-season performance identifying redundancies in the line, proposing required changes to positively impact business to meet or beat financial targets.
- Monitor weekly/monthly tracking of product performance with all KPIs and highlight important trend, according to the business performance and promotion cadence.
- Review protos/samples with Design and Product Development to ensure products meet ESPRIT quality requirements and target margin.
- Partner with regional product creation team (Hong Kong and Europe) to identify opportunities and avoid overlap.
- Coordinate with Merchandising Planning team on defining the rules for stock distribution.
- Work closely with Marketing and VM on programs to support product initiatives.
- Create Product Training materials for Retail Stores and Product Details for web business.
- Coordinate and support administration duties for the Merchandising team.
- Handle special and ad-hoc projects as assigned.
QUALIFICATION PROFILE
Studies/Experience
- Bachelor’s degree
- Experience in Merchandising or related experience is preferred
- Experience in Women’s apparel is preferred.

- Interest in fashion is a must.

IT Skills
- Must have strong Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLookUps, etc.)
- Experience in PDM/PLM and SAP is a plus
- Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop a plus.
Others
- Willingness to travel overseas
- Ability to work with different time zones
