JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for an experienced Senior Architect to lead the design, development, and evolution of both data and technology architectures in alignment with our organizational strategy. This role requires expertise in building scalable, secure, and robust data platforms while ensuring seamless integration with the broader IT infrastructure. As a key player in our transformation initiatives, you will ensure that our technology and data systems work together to meet business needs, driving efficient, data-driven decision-making.

The position is based in Madrid - a hybrid model and fluency in Spanish is essential.


Main Responsibilities:

  • Define the vision, strategy, and roadmap for both data and technology architecture evolution in alignment with the company’s objectives
  • Lead the transformation of IT infrastructure and data platforms to support business growth, scalability, and operational efficiency.
  • Design scalable, robust, secure data architectures, including data lakes, data warehouses (DW), and real-time data integration solutions.
  • Oversee the design and optimization of underlying technology systems, ensuring they are capable of supporting data management solutions and integration.
  • Select appropriate technologies and tools to meet business needs, ensuring best practices are followed for architecture design.
  • Ensure system integration and compatibility with other business applications.
  • Lead the management of the data and technology-related portfolio, ensuring that resources are allocated to high-priority projects.
  • Collaborate with business areas to identify and evaluate initiatives that contribute to technological transformation objectives.
  • Act as a technical consultant for teams, offering expertise in data architecture, standards, and best practices.
  • Work closely with stakeholders from different areas (business, IT, operations) to ensure the alignment of the architecture with business needs.
  • Identify and mitigate data-related risks, ensuring robust data security and compliance with regulations.

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of experience in both data architecture and technology engineering, with a strong focus on scalable data platforms, cloud infrastructure, and system integration.
  • Expertise in designing and optimizing data architectures (data lakes, data warehouses, pipelines) as well as technology infrastructures (cloud platforms, application frameworks, IT systems).
  • Proficiency with cloud platforms like AWS or Azure for both data management and broader IT infrastructure management.
  • Strong understanding of data security, governance, compliance, and technology architecture best practices.
  • Proven leadership skills with experience in managing strategic technology and data portfolios and aligning initiatives to business objectives.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
  • Fluency in Spanish is required.

Good to Have:

  • Fluency in English
  • Certifications in enterprise architecture (e.g., TOGAF) or data management (e.g., Snowflake, Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer).
  • Certification in Project Management
  • Familiarity with modern data architectures such as data meshes and experience with emerging technologies.
  • Experience in designing data solutions for complex business environments such as finance or operational reporting.
