Purpose

This is an entry-level cashier's position in the Bursar's Office of Accounting & Financial Management. This is a customer-facing job primarily at the front window of the Cashier's Office with other basic accounting duties, such as processing payments, receiving money, and daily account balancing. High-quality customer phone service will also be required.

Responsibilities

  • Receive money, process payments, and disperse cash refunds at the payment window for students, faculty, and staff.  Assist students and staff with problems concerning University procedures.

  • Provide quality customer service in person, through emails, and over the phone.  Assist Sr Admin with Remote Capture and preparing bank deposits for the Armored Car service.  Daily account balancing. Other related functions within the Bursar's office as assigned.

Required Qualifications

High school graduation or GED. Three years of experience as a cashier in a large-scale operation. Prior experience with the following: Receiving money, processing payments, and disbursing cash refunds.. Open, sort, and distribute mail. Daily account balancing. Prepare and process bank deposits. Regular and punctual attendance. Team player. Excellent communication skills, verbal/written.

Preferred Qualifications

More than the years of experience required - 4+. Prior experience with the following: Receiving money, processing payments, and disbursing cash refunds.. Open, sort, and distribute mail. Daily account balancing. Prepare and process bank deposits. Regular and punctual attendance. Team player. Excellent communication skills, verbal/written.

Hourly Rate

$23.00
 

Working Conditions

  • Attire: Business Casual

  • Standard Office Environment, Use of manual dexterity, Repetitive use of keyboard at a workstation

Work Shift

  • Hours per week - 40

  • The work hours are from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
