The Gist

Assists the Packaging Supervisor(s) in leading, coaching, and motivating the assigned packaging shift to ensure scheduled production is completed in a safe and cost-effective manner, while maintaining the quality of the beer.

What You’ll Do

  • Works under direction of packaging supervisor to ensure the safety of all team members; assists with completion of area/task audits for safety compliance and works with EH&S manager to ensure compliance to company and OSHA policies. 
  • Actively participate in safety meetings, audits, and good catch program. 
  • Assists with completion of 5Why and accident investigation when needed. 
  • Assists with “Good Catch” program to ensure that action is being taken to solve safety issues. 
  • Ensures team adheres to all the safety regulations of the organization. 
  • Ability to run a packaging shift in the absence of the Packaging Supervisor. 
  • Provides coaching and training to members of the packaging team with a goal of developing all members of the team to proficient status. 
  • Ensures that quality regulations of the organization (GMP, Micro, etc.) are met daily. 
  • Assists with the investigation of any quality hold on their shift and executes/assists in the action items to prevent reoccurrence. 
  • Adheres to the packaging schedule to ensure that orders are met, but also maintains the flexibility to react and make decisions that best benefit the business should unexpected situations arise (equipment breakdown, beer outage, material shortage, etc.). 
  • Assists with documentation and tracking of service metrics of their shift (line/machine efficiencies) and can identify the top 3 opportunities to improve performance. 
  • Assists with documentation and tracking of waste metrics on their shift (beer loss, material loss, etc) and aides in investigates when a trigger is hit. 
  • Proficient in operating all parts of the packaging lines. 
  • Runs all aspects of kegging, canning, and bottling line.
