THE ROLE

We’re seeking a Data Engineer with at least two years of hands-on experience in Azure Databricks and at least four years in data engineering to help modernize and scale our analytics platform. You’ll work closely with BI Engineers, Data Scientists and Data Analysts to deliver cloud-native, scalable, and fault-tolerant data pipelines ensuring high-quality analytics-ready data for downstream consumption.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Integrate data from diverse sources including REST APIs, sFTP, Dropbox, and SharePoint.
  • Migrate legacy data pipelines (SSIS, Data Factory) to Databricks.
  • Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines using Databricks Lake flow and Delta Lake.
  • Profile source data, perform source-to-target mapping, and model data into dimensional models following the Databricks Medallion architecture.
  • Implement CI/CD workflows in Azure Dev Ops and Databricks Asset Bundles following dev-ops coding and deployment standards.
  • Implement data quality, reliability, and scalability best practices.
  • Partner with analytics teams to deliver data solutions that drive insights.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum four years working experience in data engineering.
  • Minimum two years working experience in Databricks (Azure Databricks a plus).
  • Experience with DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform/DABs).
  • Strong skills in Python (particularly PySpark), DBSQL, and cloud-based data architectures.
  • Experience with Azure resources or similar (Functions, Blob Storage, Key Vault, DevOps).
  • Proven ability to work with dimensional modeling and large-scale datasets.
  • Excellent collaboration skills with BI, analytics, and data science teams.

BONUS

  • Experience with hospitality/retail POS transaction data
  • Experience with ETL tools like SSIS
  • Experience with popular iPaaS platform like Fivetran, SnaplogiC
