The Duke University School of Nursing (DUSON) is seeking qualified applicants for a Postdoctoral Associate. The successful applicant will work closely with Dr. Hanzhang Xu (PI) on an R01 grant funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) conducting research on the resources supporting caregiving for persons living with Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias in Asia, and advancing our knowledge to better inform the design and targeting of person-centered community-based dementia care services. The scope of research involves the quantitative, cross-national comparative analysis of real-world family structures, care utilization patterns, and well-being using multiple nationally-representative aging cohorts (e.g. Health and Retirement Study International Family of Studies).
The position will provide excellent opportunities for career development and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team of investigators in demography, sociology, epidemiology, and health services research.

Requirements:
Eligible candidates should have a doctoral degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) in any of the following areas by the time of the appointment: gerontology, epidemiology, health services research, sociology, demography or a related discipline. The successful candidate will have a strong quantitative background, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and experience managing and analyzing complex datasets using R, Stata and/or SAS. Preference will be given to candidates with proficiency coding and managing multiple large datasets and experience estimating latent class models.

The postdoc position is full-time with a competitive salary that includes excellent fringe benefits. The appointment is for a minimum of one year, with renewals contingent upon performance and funding.
