Senior Contracts Manager

Anthropic is seeking a highly qualified Senior Contracts Manager to support commercial and technology transactions. We’ll rely on you to help review, draft, and negotiate commercial contracts to support our cutting-edge AI systems, build scalable contracting processes, and collaborate across Product, Sales, Business Operations, Research, and Procurement teams.

Responsibilities:

• Draft, analyze, negotiate, and complete complex commercial transactions with the company’s enterprise customers, vendors, and strategic partners, including IP licensing agreements and procurement agreements
• Propose and develop scalable solutions to improve contracting efficiency
• Collaborate with the Product, Sales, Business Operations, Research, and Procurement teams to achieve key business objectives and deliver strategic, business-minded, and solutions-focused counsel
• As a relatively small legal team supporting big things, each legal team member practices across multiple areas. We’d love to hear where else you’d be interested to pitch in, whether as a function of your experience or interests

• Understand what’s important in the context of a contract, the organization’s mission, when to be flexible, and when to draw a hard line
• Are excited to grow with an organization and help shape the culture of the commercial function
• Prefer straightforward, concise explanations to legalese and overwrought drafting
• Have a knack for identifying and implementing efficient processes and policies
• Thrive as a member of cross-functional teams building frontier technologies and want to develop a deep understanding of our technical teams and what we are building
• Are comfortable operating outside your areas of expertise and in uncharted legal territory
• Are a “doer” and are willing to roll up your sleeves to get things done. You’re a team player who doesn’t hesitate to jump in to do work that needs to get done whether glamorous or not

Strong candidates may also:

• Have 10+ years of related contract management experience, with at least 3 years of experience supporting technology transactions
• Have substantive knowledge of software agreements, reseller agreements, services agreements, strategic partnerships, and intellectual property i.e. patent, trade secret, copyright licensing arrangements
• Have excellent verbal and written communication, analytical, collaboration, and interpersonal skills
• Be motivated self-starters who are able to multi-task and juggle multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
• Have authentic integrity and a deep understanding of the importance of ethics in business

Annual Salary (USD)

• The expected salary range for this position is $220k - $275k USD.

LogisticsLocation-based hybrid policy: Currently, we expect all staff to be in our office at least 75% of the time.
