Job Summary:

Old Tucson Entertainment is seeking a skilled and motivated Lead Pizza Cook to join our Food & Beverage team. The Lead Pizza Cook will possess a deep understanding of various pizza styles and demonstrate the ability to lead a team in a fast-paced kitchen environment. This role involves overseeing the preparation and cooking of a variety of pizzas, ensuring top quality and consistency. Your leadership, culinary expertise, and commitment to customer satisfaction will play a crucial role in creating exceptional dining experiences for our guests.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Oversee the preparation of pizza dough, sauces, and toppings according to recipes and standards.
• Assemble and cook pizzas in ovens, ensuring consistency in quality, taste, and presentation.
• Monitor food stock and place orders as needed to maintain inventory levels.
• Assist with managing portion sizes, minimizing waste, and efficiently using ingredients.
• Lead, train, and supervise the pizza kitchen team, providing guidance and training as needed.
• Assign tasks to ensure efficient pizza staff operations.
• Foster a positive and collaborative team environment.
• Monitor inventory levels of pizza ingredients and supplies.
• Maintain accurate records of inventory usage and minimize waste.
• Ensure workstations are clean and organized, including pizza prep stations and ovens.
• Adhere to and enforce proper food handling, sanitation, and safety procedures.
• Interact with guests in a friendly and professional manner.
• Address customer questions and concerns promptly and courteously.
• Ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment.
• Conduct regular checks to ensure pizzas are cooked to the desired standards.
• Ensure all ingredients are fresh and meet quality standards.
• Implement portion control guidelines to minimize waste and maintain consistency.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
• Use proper protective equipment and safe practices when handling food and operating kitchen equipment.
• Adapt to changing priorities, schedules, and customer needs, ensuring efficient and effective kitchen operations.
• Flexibly manage multiple tasks and responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
• Assist with other kitchen and food preparation tasks as needed, including catering and special events.
• Support team members and contribute to a positive team environment.
• Other duties as assigned

Education, Skill and Work Experience Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Culinary training or certification is a plus.
• At least 1-year proven experience as a pizza cook or similar role preferred.
• Proven leadership and team management skills.
• Knowledge of pizza preparation techniques and equipment operation.
• Understanding of food safety and sanitation standards.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Ability to stand for extended periods
• Lift and move heavy ingredients and supplies, at least 50 lbs.

Work Environment:

• Work primarily in a kitchen environment with exposure to heat, flames, and cooking equipment.
• Navigate and work in crowded and noisy conditions typical of a busy theme park.
• Ability to work in varying levels of lighting and temperature conditions.
• Requires standing, walking, bending, and lifting for extended periods and on uneven ground.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing environmental conditions and work demands.
• Evening, weekend, and holiday work required.
