Job Description Summary
The Repairs Value Stream Estimating Manager is responsible to provide the Sales / Commercial teams with Cost, Scope and Cycle for all non-standard (not CPQ configured) repair offers.Providing direct support to the Sales / Commercial teams and collaborating with other organizations to further integrate and develop cost models and build new standard models for the Steam Turbine & Generator repairs portfolio in the CPQ platform.
Partnering closely with Optimization, the Service Centre, Engineering, Sourcing and Logistics, the Estimating Manager creates "should cost" estimates, reflecting the appropriate rates & processes.
The Estimating Manager is a key position requiring significant expertise in Steam Turbine repairs and / or manufacturing (Generator knowledge a plus), enabling new orders, supporting growth, developing solutions and enabling the Service Centre to be successful.

Job Description
Essential Responsibilities
- Translating RfQs into Cost, Scope and Cycle offers, responsible and accountable for delivering quality offers on behalf of the defined Service Centre(s)
- Remotely coordinating major stakeholders, ensuring Service Centre buy in and cost solidity
- Coordinating with Engineering for scope definition as necessary, Service Centres for hours and cycle and Sourcing and Logistics for lead time and cost information
- Supporting the Sales team with offer clarifications, information and driving offer cost review
- Building new standards into the core quoting platform (CPQ) for repairs cost configuration
- Compile, analyse and integrate cost data and related inputs from various internal functions, partners and suppliers required in the development of cost estimates
- Support maintenance of cost standards and models either through direct involvement or by providing systematic feedback
- Analyse ‘as estimated’ versus ‘as executed’ cost and reporting findings and lessons learnt, building into future estimates as necessary
- Represent the Estimating organisation in addressing matters with internal customers, partners and suppliers
- Accountability for quote accuracy and objective to provide estimates within target timeframe and compliance boundaries
- Richmond location specific:
- Drive standard model development across Americas region
- Support regional estimating effort (Morelia, Schenectady, Atlanta, etc...)
Qualifications / Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical engineering or related and five years costing / planning experience in the power industry
- In depth knowledge of Steam Turbine technologies and experience in repairs
- Understanding and experience of other Product Line repairs, in particular, Generator Rotors (Fields)
- Knowledge of relevant industry and understanding of the processes used in parts manufacturing and repair
- Ability to remotely coordinate deliverables from cross functional teams and processes
- Proven planning and project management skills, proactive in risk management & compliance matters
- Fluency in English is essential, local and other languages are an advantage
- Ability to work effectively in a culturally diverse and highly matrixed environment
Desired Characteristics
- Previous experience with CRM systems (NEX) and other sales platforms (CPQ)
- Ability to work independently with large data sets
- Knowledge and experience of Microsoft office
- Knowledge and understanding of relevant standards and GE policies

Pay Transparency
The base pay range for this position is $78,800.00 – 131,000.00. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for a 10% performance bonus/variable incentive compensation/equity. This posting is expected to close on April 1, 2025, or thereafter.
*The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas.
