At MCG, we lead the healthcare community to deliver patient-focused care. We have a mission-driven team of talented physicians and technical experts developing our evidence-based content and innovating our products to accelerate improvements in healthcare. If you are driven to enhance the US healthcare system, MCG is eager to have you join our team. We cultivate a work environment that nurtures personal and professional growth, and this is a thrilling time to become a part of our organization. With dynamic roles that offer meaningful impact, you'll be able to fully realize your potential. Plus, you'll enjoy world-class benefits and the security, stability, and resources of our parent company, Hearst, with over 100 years of experience.
As a Senior Technical Program Manager (TPM) at MCG Health, you will play a pivotal role in transforming engineering concepts into reality, driving the success of MCG’s innovative products. In this dynamic and growing company, you will navigate complex and evolving roadmaps, balancing priorities across multiple high-impact projects competing for resources. As the TPM for an internal services team, you will work closely with engineers and stakeholders to identify the most effective paths forward, ensuring alignment between diverse project goals.
Your primary responsibility will be to gain a deep understanding of each project—grasping the requested work, stakeholder objectives, and available resources. Leveraging your technical expertise, you will assess the feasibility of engineering solutions, guide technical decision-making, and ensure that the chosen approaches align with both business and technical goals. You will develop a coherent and adaptable execution plan using robust project management techniques, keeping the project on track and evolving as needed. Communication and risk management will be key, ensuring all parties are informed and aligned throughout the project lifecycle.
While managing the many important aspects of project execution, such as documentation, milestones tracking, driving the projects, and coordinating multiple stakeholders, your ultimate measure of success will be the achievement of project outcomes and the positive experience of all participants involved.
You Will:
Plan and Execute Projects:
• Define Project Scope and Objectives: Develop a clear understanding of project scope, goals, and deliverables that align with both business objectives and technical feasibility.
• Create Detailed Project Plans: Develop comprehensive project plans, including technical roadmaps and communication documents that outline project schedules, milestones, and deliverables.
• Drive Project Execution: Lead the planning and implementation of project activities, ensuring technical milestones are met and risks are proactively managed.
• Manage Daily Operations: Oversee the day-to-day execution of project tasks, ensuring that planning, scheduling, and risk management practices are effectively applied to keep the project on track by coordinating with stakeholders.
Lead and Coordinate a Team (cross-functional):
• Effective Communication: Communicate project expectations clearly to both technical teams and stakeholders, ensuring alignment across all parties.
• Task Delegation and Tracking: Delegate tasks and responsibilities to the appropriate technical personnel and monitor progress to ensure timely delivery.
• Resolve Conflicts and Challenges: Identify and resolve any issues or conflicts within the project team, leveraging your technical knowledge to guide problem-solving efforts.
• Cross-functional collaboration: Work across multiple engineering teams to ensure seamless integration of new features and technical components.
Manage Risk:
• Proactive Risk Management: Identify potential technical risks early and devise contingency plans to mitigate them. Adapt project plans as necessary to address evolving technical challenges.
• Strategic Planning: Recognize primary risks and constraints during project planning and design the project workflow to address and clear these risks as early as possible.
Communicate with Stakeholders:
• Proactive Stakeholder Communication: Manage stakeholder communication effectively, ensuring that project documentation is accurate, current, and easily accessible.
• Clear Technical Communication: Use excellent verbal and written communication skills to articulate project status, technical risks, and challenges to business, technical teams, and executive-level stakeholders.
• Manage Priority Changes: Assess the impact of priority changes on technical aspects of the project, communicate those impacts clearly, and update project plans accordingly.
