These new applications are associated with requirements in terms of coverage, capacity, throughput, latency or reliability that are challenges for network modeling, design and optimization. Several technologies are candidates to meet these requirements, such as high frequencies, multi-antenna techniques, smart surfaces, drones, satellites, etc. The current models used to model networks up to 5G are no longer relevant to analyze the current evolutions. </p> <p> We need to redefine the mathematical tools that will allow us to understand the principles and operating limits of future wireless systems in order to develop their functional specifications and, ultimately, to develop new products and standards.</p> <p>More generally, all fields where the modeling of spatial, frequency or temporal phenomena is important (for example for autonomous vehicles, fleets of drones, sensor networks or even robot systems) are in the profile sought.</p> <p><br/></p> <p><strong>MISSIONS AND ACTIVITIES</strong></p> <p><strong>Research :</strong></p> <p>We are looking for someone whose main expertise is stochastic modeling applied to networks. Skills in stochastic geometry, machine learning, optimal transport, algebraic topology, robust optimization, or percolation are part of the profile.</p> <p><strong>Teaching:</strong></p> <p>The person recruited will have to participate in the applied mathematics courses (analysis, probabilities, statistics) given in the school (L3-M2) and/or in the network modeling courses (queues, point processes, etc.) The candidate must be able to teach in French in a few years.</p> <p><strong>Animation:</strong></p> <p>Participates in and contributes to the scientific animation of the Group that hosts him/her (seminars, defenses, juries). </p> <p>Participation in the reputation of the School and the Institut Polytechnique de Paris:</p> <p>Publish the results of his/her research work and give presentations and conferences; </p> <p>To be involved in learned or professional societies and to maintain close relations with academic institutions, research centers and companies. </p> <h3>Requirements</h3> <p><strong><br/></strong><strong>Education:</strong></p> <ul><li>PhD or equivalent; </li><li>Civil servant belonging to a body recruited through the École Polytechnique or ENA or former student of the École Normale Supérieure with professional experience ≥ 3 years ; </li><li>Graduate of a School of Engineering or Business and Management or equivalent with professional experience ≥ 5 years</li></ul> <p><strong>Essential skills, knowledge and experience:</strong></p> <ul><li>In-depth knowledge, theoretical or applied, in his/her field </li><li>Fluency in English. </li></ul> <p><strong>Desirable skills, knowledge and experience:</strong></p> <ul><li>Post-doctoral or international experience in an academic or industrial laboratory appreciated ; </li><li>Teaching experience. </li></ul> <p><strong>Abilities and skills:</strong></p> <ul><li>Ability to work in a team, interpersonal skills; </li><li>Pedagogical skills; </li><li>Ability to write and synthesize.</li></ul> <p><br/></p> <p><u>Applicants should submit a single PDF file that includes: </u><br/></p> <ul><li>a detailed CV</li><li>a letter of motivation</li><li>the thesis and defense reports</li><li>teaching perspectives (activities carried out, pedagogical methods used, teaching project for initial and continuing education (max 4 pages)</li><li>research perspectives (synthesis of the main research axes, research project) (max 4 pages)</li><li>a copy of the 3 main publications</li><li>the names and e-mail addresses of two qualified personalities who can give an informed opinion on the application.</li></ul><p><u><br/></u></p> <p><u>Contact for further information: </u></p> <ul><li>Laurent
