Nursing | College AdministrationThe Research Associate will support health informatics and biomedical research projects through advanced data management, statistical analysis, and visualization of clinical and research datasets. This role requires not only strong technical expertise in data science but also a solid understanding of medical and clinical data to ensure results are interpreted in ways that are meaningful, accurate, and relevant for healthcare applications.
The ideal candidate will have both quantitative expertise and a background in healthcare, biomedicine, or a clinical field. This combination will enable them to translate raw data into actionable insights, bridge the gap between technical analysis and medical interpretation, and collaborate effectively with clinicians, researchers, and interdisciplinary teams.
Minimum education and experience required, degree level and focus area:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience required; 3 years of relevant experience required with Associate's Degree, or 1 years of relevant experience required with Bachelor's Degree.
Desired Qualifications:
- 3–5 years of hands-on experience in research data analysis, clinical data management, or health IT data analytics
- Focus areas: Health data analytics, healthcare informatics, biostatistics, ML in healthcare, data visualization, and health information exchange (FHIR/HL7). MD/MBBS with strong data science training also considered.
- Technical skills
- Proficiency in R, Python, SPSS, STATA for statistical analysis, and modeling.
- SQL for data extraction and database querying.
- Experience with end-to-end data pipelines, data cleaning, and data quality protocols.
- Visualization and reporting tools: Tableau and or Power BI; ggplot2, ComplexHeatmap, dplyr, rstatix, flextable, officer (or equivalent).
- Familiarity with health IT standards (FHIR, HL7) and HIPAA/privacy considerations.
- Statistical and analytical capabilities
- Experience with intensive longitudinal or time-series analyses; mixed-effects models; non-parametric testing (Kruskal-Wallis, Dunn’s test) and multiple testing corrections (BH/BKY/FDR).
- Additional desirable competencies
- Project management experience, ability to handle multiple concurrent projects, and strong organizational skills.
- Experience with dashboards and analytics for clinical workflows or digital health tools (e.g., Flutter-based apps, mobile health tools) is a plus.
