Position Summary:

Florida Atlantic University is seeking an Automation Specialist - Boca Raton, FL.

Summary of Responsibilities:

• Supervises the preventative maintenance team to ensure the quality and timely preventative maintenance of the University’s Heating, Ventilating and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems and equipment. Motivates employees by counseling, discipline, and evaluating their performance in terms of job performance, attendance, and attitude.

• Develops, plans, schedules, and materials ordering to support the University’s routine and Preventative Maintenance program.

• Uses judgment to arrive at accurate decisions regarding the most efficient means and methods of accomplishing a task for the given circumstances.

• Inspects for asset deterioration and prepares cost estimates.

• Manages resources of labor, tools, and materials efficiently to complete jobs within the allotted schedule and budget.

• Maintains quality control to assure the completion of work in accordance with established specifications and standards and communicates within the department, University, and with contractors in a readily understandable manner. Maintains proper records for departmental use.

• Develops and maintains a productive and safe workplace.
