Job Description
Applications will be considered on an as-needed basis determined by department need. This position may close early if the hiring need is filled or do to volume of applications received.
Teach a variety of Culinary or Pastry Arts courses with differing modes of instruction, lecture, technology, demonstration, and practical application, presenting the course materials in a manner that educates and engages students.
Provide students with syllabi that meet college, department, and program requirements.
Effectively evaluate student performance while meeting assessment guidelines.
Communicate with students in a timely manner.
Develop a professional working relationship with other faculty and staff in the department and the college.
Participate in program/division meetings and activities.
Keep abreast of current industry trends and participate in local professional organizations.
Preferred Qualifications
Associate degree from a regionally accredited college or university or equivalent in industry experience.
5 years of general hands-on Culinary and/or Pastry experience as a line employee and multiple years of food service management experience.
Direct food service management experience.
Current ServSafe certification.
Skills in use and operation of basic computer software.
Knowledge of current trends in the food and beverage industry.
Written and verbal communication skills that will facilitate effective teaching and mentoring.
Salary Information
$925.00 per credit hour. Credits will vary by semester
