Raytheon’s Technical Center in Fort Wayne, Indiana is seeking a Machinist for their engineering development department to focus on making small run engineering prototype parts and assemblies.
This position will utilize communication and technical skills to create solutions that meet demanding engineering standards and tolerances in support of many RTX programs and businesses. This includes the application of lean methods, project engineering and machining principals, and an understanding of and implementation of quality/EHS compliance. You will be instrumental in optimizing machining processes, driving continuous improvement and contributing to the successful alignment of program standards.

What You Will Do
Work with engineers to review drawings, specifications and develop machining solutions to produce parts to meet the required design and functionality.
Become integrated into the Machine shop Team, planning, coordinating, and successfully producing the machined parts to meet all the specified engineering requirements.
Program and operate HAAS multi axis (up to 5) CNC milling machines and work on other standard machine shop equipment.
Manage the customers and companies required engineering documentation and processes to create a permanent record of how the part was created for future reference.
Track the work progress and provide regular status updates to your customer’s.

Manage through work requests for walk-in-quick-turn work to multi-month projects and anything in between.
Experience working through all aspects of delivering completed parts to the customer including work planning, material ordering, CNC programming, machining, scheduling finishes/coatings, and timely delivery of finished parts with minimal direction to the customer.
