About the role

At TE, you will unleash your potential working with people from diverse backgrounds and industries to create a safer, sustainable and more connected world.

Job Overview

We are looking for a forward-thinking Manufacturing Process Engineering Supervisor to lead and develop a team of engineers and technicians supporting critical production processes across our manufacturing operations, with a strong focus on CNC machining, precision manufacturing, process stability, and continuous improvement.

This role is responsible for strengthening day-to-day manufacturing performance while also helping shape the long-term process engineering roadmap for the site. The successful candidate will bring a strong foundation in CNC manufacturing, process engineering, equipment capability, tooling, automation, and data-driven problem solving.

While CNC machining is a major focus of this role, the position is broader than CNC support alone. This leader will also support process improvement, new product introduction, capital equipment planning, production ramp-up, and cross-functional manufacturing initiatives that improve quality, cost, delivery, safety, and productivity.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who can operate at both the strategic and tactical level — supporting daily manufacturing needs while also helping advance the plant’s long-term manufacturing and precision machining capabilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor a team of manufacturing engineers and technicians supporting CNC machining, precision manufacturing, tooling, automation, documentation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Develop, implement, and improve manufacturing processes that support safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and cost objectives.
  • Provide technical leadership for CNC machining processes, including process optimization, tooling strategy, setup reduction, machine capability, production troubleshooting, and standard work.
  • Partner with Production, Quality, Supply Chain, Maintenance, Product Engineering, and Operations leadership to resolve chronic manufacturing issues and improve process performance.
  • Drive process optimization through data analysis, root cause investigation, corrective action, standard work, and continuous improvement methods.
  • Support new product introduction, product transfers, and process changes by ensuring manufacturability, process stability, documentation readiness, and production scalability.
  • Lead process validation activities, capability studies, risk assessments, and production readiness reviews for new or modified processes, including CNC machining and other precision manufacturing operations.
  • Identify and justify capital equipment, tooling, automation, and manufacturing technology investments based on business need, ROI, capacity, quality impact, and long-term manufacturing strategy.
  • Support the development of the site’s CNC and precision manufacturing technology roadmap, including equipment upgrades, automation opportunities, process standardization, and future capability needs.
  • Build detailed business cases for capital expenditures, including cost-benefit analysis, capacity modeling, payback projections, and implementation planning.
  • Standardize best practices through work instructions, process documentation, training materials, visual management, and operator support.
  • Champion Lean manufacturing initiatives, including 5S, Value Stream Mapping, Standard Work, Visual Management, SMED, waste reduction, and flow improvement.
  • Utilize data analytics and key performance indicators to identify opportunities related to downtime, yield, scrap, labor efficiency, machine utilization, throughput, and process variation.
  • Lead cross-functional improvement projects from problem definition through implementation, verification, and sustainment.

What your background should look like

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 5+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, process engineering, CNC machining, precision manufacturing, industrial engineering, or a similar technical manufacturing role.  Combination of relevant education and related manufacturing will also be considered.
  • At least 2 years of leadership, supervisory, project leadership, or technical team leadership experience preferred.
  • Strong background in CNC machining, process development, process improvement, production support, and manufacturing problem solving.
  • Working knowledge of CNC equipment, machining processes, tooling, fixturi
