Basic Job Functions:
Nucor Steel Connecticut is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Payroll & HR Administrator. Responsibilities include providing excellent customer service to our teammates and processing weekly payroll while maintaining confidentiality and integrity of all payroll data. The role of the Payroll & HR Administrator includes but is not limited to all payroll activities; preparation, filing and reconciliation of quarterly & annually federal and state tax returns; month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing; preparing W2’s; preparation and submission of weekly and monthly reports to accounting. The Payroll & HR Administrator will also assist with the administration of various company sponsored programs, projects and benefits (service awards, scholarships, education reimbursement, health benefits, etc.) as well as maintaining records and documentation retention. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 3+ years of customer service experience
- HR and/or Payroll experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Degree in Business or related discipline
- Payroll and/or HR experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience working with SAP, SuccessFactors, and other HR related systems
- Basic knowledge of fundamental federal and state employment laws
- Skilled in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
