Regional Buyer

 

Purpose:

The Regional Buyer is responsible for overseeing the purchasing of parts and services within their designated region(s), supporting operational needs and corporate procurement strategies.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Research and coordinate with current vendors to source parts and supplies, including monitoring availability, pricing, lead times, discounts, and product updates.
• Monitor purchasing system operations, identify out-of-parameter issues, investigate problems, and implement corrective actions.
• Support corporate initiatives to consolidate vendor lists and leverage national account agreements.
• Coordinate the purchase of parts and services across multiple branches within the assigned region(s).
• Provide oversight and support for shop-level inventory management and purchasing programs.
• Maintain accurate purchase order records within procurement systems (e.g., JD Edwards, RentalMan).
• Assist in the training and development of personnel involved in purchasing, including shop clerks responsible for requisitions.
• Maintain organized records and generate reports related to purchasing activities.
• Uphold Maxim’s safety standards and promote a culture of safety.
• Communicate effectively with internal teams, branch locations, vendors, and other stakeholders.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

 

Requirements:

Education:

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent certification required.

 

Experience:

• Minimum of 2 years of purchasing or fulfillment experience.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), such as RentalMan or JD Edwards.

 

Skills and Knowledge:

• Basic understanding of purchasing in the industrial or transportation sectors.
• Intermediate proficiency with CMMS platforms, including JD Edwards and RentalMan.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.

 

Physical Requirements:

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision requirements include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
