Purpose:

The purpose of this position is to support and advance collaborative work with Dell Medical School and other UT Austin colleges and schools focused on technology and health.

Job Details:

This is a grant-funded position and reassignment will be based upon performance, progress toward research goals and continuation of funding. At the end of 1 year, continued appointment will be contingent on garnering external funding program of research that provides salary support and receiving a performance rating of ‘meets or exceeds expectations’ on annual reviews. Travel to selected academic conferences, and for other appropriate research activities, will be available.

Responsibilities

  • Seek external funding to support awards and programming related to the Health and Technology domain at the Moritz Center.

  • Develop and support health and technology research with Dell Medical School and other UT partners.

  • Support manuscript/report writing related to the Center’s work in Health and Technology.

  • Serve as conduit to help recruit and connect interested faculty and students across UT in the work of the Moritz Center.

  • With Center and School leadership, provide support for development and donor opportunities.

Required Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in social work, public health, psychology, social sciences, or related field

  • Minimum 4 years of experience conducting research within the public/ non-profit mental health, homelessness, or social services sectors

  • Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

  • Demonstrated record of success as a researcher within the academy as well as in community settings.

  • Proficiency in writing research reports, manuscripts and with sharing findings in presentations are also required.

  • Value the contributions of others in the work environment.

  • Technical Skills: utilizing statistical software such as the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) for data analysis, managing datasets, and employing web-based applications such as Infogram, Canva, PowerBI for research purposes.

Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

  • PhD in social work, public health, psychology, social sciences, or related field

  • Proven commitment to students is strongly preferred

Salary Range

$100,000+ depending on qualifications

***(part-time rate of $50,000 per year)

Position Duration

One year term renewable pending availability of funds.

  • This position is based in Austin, TX and is required to work on campus
