In this role, you will:
- Lead or participate in moderately complex credit and portfolio consulting services
- Mentor and guide large scale planning related to credit performance, potential or emerging risks, and credit and portfolio strategies
- Review and analyze potential or emerging credit risks that require an in-depth evaluation of variable factors to ensure conformity with risk appetite and culture, as well as appropriate credit policies
- Resolve moderately complex credit issues
- Lead a team to meet deliverables while leveraging solid understanding of credit products, programs, or related policies
- Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and mid level managers to resolve credit portfolio issues and achieve goals
- Lead projects, teams, or serve as a mentor for less experienced staff
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of Credit Consulting Portfolio experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
- Credit risk, merchant services underwriting, commercial underwriting, commercial loan review, portfolio management or equivalent experience in financial services
- Ability to make timely decisions in highly complex and multifaceted underwriting situations requiring solid understanding of line of business guidance and credit policy.
- Ability to engage, influence, and collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders to deliver results
- Ability to draft and present to senior management in a clear and concise manner in written and oral form
- Ability to exercise sound judgment, demonstrate professionalism, and proactively escalate issues along with recommendations for successful resolution
- Ability to take initiative and work independently with minimal supervision in a structured environment
- Ability to multi-task and work in a highly matrixed and fast paced business environment
- Effective organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple and sometimes competing priorities
- Effective communication skills across all audiences
- Ability to execute controls in support of effective FLOD underwriting risk management
- Experience in influencing, guiding and leading less experienced Underwriting staff within the group
- Experience in participating in cross functional teams to strategize, plan, and execute a variety of underwriting programs, services and initiatives
