Summary of Job Duties:

The Graduate Assistant (GA) in the Center for Community Engagement (CCE) will assist in co-advising three mentorship programs: Passionate about Literacy (PAL), Dream BIG, and Be BOLD (youth mentoring programs). The Graduate Assistant will help student leaders craft budgets, manage inventories for programs and supplies for events, as well as continually improve upon processes that center youth mentorship and the volunteer experience of these programs. Additionally, the GA will provide developmental advising to student leaders informed by theory with the goal of supporting personal and programmatic success. They will oversee weekly one on ones with team leadership, attend weekly board meetings, attend weekly Center for Community Engagement meetings, and assist in supporting the practical operations of all three teams. The GA will report to full-time staff in the Center for Community Engagement.


A typical week in this position will often involve advising students in one-on-one meetings; attending standing meetings, supporting mentorship program operations through inventory management, event support, and assisting student leaders with the development and administration of their student fee budgets, along with their fundraising goals for their programs.
