About the Team
The Global Traffic Infrastructure (GTI) team leverages unified platform capabilities to manage edge infrastructure outside China (both self-built and third-party) providing standardized, compliant, scalable, and cost-effective traffic infrastructure capabilities for edge services. Our vision is to build a global edge traffic infrastructure platform and become the long-term cornerstone of ByteDance’s global edge business in terms of scale, performance, and cost.
Responsibilities
- Own the technical architecture and long-term roadmap for GTI's global network and edge traffic infrastructure, supporting large-scale, latency-sensitive services.
- Design and evolve the cloud-native networking stack, including Kubernetes-based Ingress/Gateway and traffic management systems, to improve global traffic scheduling, gateway performance, and resilience.
- Build platform-level abstractions for traffic infrastructure, exposing standardized APIs and reusable capabilities that enable fast integration and innovation for traffic-intensive business teams.
- Drive architectural decisions around global load balancing, cross-region traffic steering, and edge–core collaboration.
- Partner closely with SRE, infrastructure, and product teams to ensure architectures are operable, scalable, and cost-efficient in production.
The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $208800 - $438000 annually.
