DESCRIPTION 

Tenneco/DRiV is looking for an experienced, innovative, and creative Director, Product Management to execute on DRiV’s Emissions Controls and sensor product strategies including product vision, and roadmap for North America. This role is inherently cross-functional — you will work closely with Business Development, Engineering, Operations, Legal, Public Policy, Finance, Training and Tech Teams, Network Planning, and Executive Leadership to bring DRiV’s Emissions Products in North America to market. This job will require exceptional communication skills and having the ability to work independently in a high-pressure environment with all levels of leadership, and exercise sound judgment where clear guidelines may not exist. 
 
The ideal candidate must have a high degree of autonomy with the ability to navigate ambiguous problems, develop solutions, and drive DRiV Emissions Products forward with minimal guidance. This individual must be able to think strategically and will be proficient at influencing cross-functionally and deliver strong results. This individual must have the ability to dive deep in understanding the product and the competitive landscape and build best-in-class scalable products.

RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Ownership of P&L for U.S. and Canada for Emissions Products and Sensors (responsible for growing the business while achieving targeted profitability). 

  • Serves as technical expert for the emissions organization relative to catalyst strategy including negotiating with the EPA, CARB and others to ensure products meet legal requirements. 

  • Responsible for building best in class sensor product category supporting light vehicle, commercial truck and off-highway applications.  Responsible to establish revenue channel. 

  • Provides informal leadership to DRiV commercial, purchasing, engineering, category, brand / marketing teams to ensure alignment to timing and profitability plans. 

  • Owns product market expansion and new product launches (both new and adjacent products).   

  • Represents the product to internal and external customers as well as DRiV management. 

  • Defines the product offering and identify gaps in the current Emissions Products portfolio. 

  • Defines the product offering and identifies which Sensor Products should be developed and launched. 

  • Lead activities to build vision, strategy and requirements for Emission Products; utilizing available studies (market research, internal) and competitive analysis to identify customer needs; identifying relevant components of a competitive analysis. 

  • Understand and manage product/services life cycles, profitability, demand planning, new product/services development ideation and process management, competitive offerings. 

  • Lead and influence cross-functional teams to execute on product development, integration, and commercialization plans to deliver on business case. 

  • Demonstrate expertise at the product level, build partnerships with relevant stakeholder teams, and make trade-off decisions for Emission Products. 

  • Provide direction to cross-functional teams, including engineering teams and business functions, communicating the product roadmap and keeping everyone informed of updates and changes. 

 

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS 

  • 12+ years of team management experience. 

  • 17+ years of relevant experience in marketing, product management, project management, engineering. Preferably in aftermarket automotive. 

  • Bachelor's degree. 

  • Excellent writing, presentation and overall communication skills. 

  • Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition. 

  • Ability to lead mutli-functional teams with financial performance management. 

  • Strong collaboration ability with engineering, sales, marketing and operations. 

  • Experience leading teams through stage gate product management. 

  • Ability to understand P&L, cost structures and margin drivers. 

  • Ability to establish strong relationships with customers and partners in commercializing new products. 

  • Proficiency with a CR
