Co-Op Production Value Stream 2026

Your Key Responsibilities

The Co-op will be assigned to the Surface Mount Technology department in the Seguin, Texas Schaeffler Automotive plant. In addition, the Co-op will collaborate closely with the engineering and manufacturing teams on a daily basis, contributing to a range of innovative and technically challenging projects. This role is an excellent opportunity for a working student to gain practical experience alongside their studies.

• Establish optimized material flow and visual management tools for inventory control.
• Participate in root cause analysis and problem-solving activities to reduce product changeover times.
• Participate in continuous improvement projects using Lean, Six  Sigma, and Kaizen methodologies.
• Update standard work instruction, process documentation, and visual management tools.
• Assist in implementing 5S and other workplace organization initiatives.

Your Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, mechanical, electrical, Mechatronics Engineering.
• Maintain a 2.5 GPA or higher per semester.
• Experience in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Basic understanding of Lean Manufacturing concepts and value stream mapping preferred.
• Excellent communication ability (written &verbal).
• Extremely self-motivated & driven to achieve results.
