About the role

Position Summary: The Program Coordinator supports two distinct academic programs — the Pava Center and GPATS — with responsibility for event management, student placement, communications, and administrative operations. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and capable of managing multiple priorities with professionalism and discretion. In addition, the candidate will teach 3 courses per semester in the Rebecca Ivry Department of Jewish Studies Position Responsibilities:  Program & Event Management
  • Plan and execute a range of programs, including lectures, scholar dinners, leadership seminars, shabbatons, orientations, graduation ceremonies, and domestic and international cohort trips.
  • Oversee all associated logistics, including scheduling, venue reservations, catering, materials preparation, photography, and vendor coordination.
Student Placement & Development
  • Develop and maintain centralized systems for managing placement opportunities, connecting students with speaking engagements, monthly internships, high school placements, and community shabbaton experiences.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for partner institutions.
  • Meet individually with students to build placement portfolios and support post-graduation job searches.
  • Facilitate workshops on professional development topics, including resume writing, bio development, and interview preparation.
Communications & Marketing
  • Oversee each program's communications strategy, including social media management (Instagram, Facebook), email distribution, and promotional materials.
  • Ensure all content reflects the institutional identity and standards of each program.
Travel & Online Programming
  • Coordinate all logistics for domestic and international travel, including itineraries, participant materials, and vendor relations.
  • Manage online programming operations, including course registration, Zoom administration, and post-session recording distribution.
Finance & Administration
  • Process and track student stipends, honoraria, faculty payments, invoices, and reimbursements.
  • Maintain master calendars, placement records, and financial tracking spreadsheets in coordination with program leadership. Support student admissions, faculty onboarding, and semester registration processes.

Instruction

  • Teach 3 Jewish Studies courses in each of the fall and spring semesters
Experience & Education Background:
  • Master’s degree required.
  • Background in communications, education, nonprofit management, or Jewish studies would be particularly relevant.
  • Two to four years of experience in program coordination, event planning, office administration, or a related field.
  • Experience in a university, nonprofit, or Jewish institutional setting is a significant advantage.
Skills & Competencies:
  • Strong organizational skills, the ability to manage competing priorities, comfort working with faculty and senior leadership, and a high degree of professionalism and discretion.
  • Experience teaching at the undergraduate level.
