Patient Accounts Clerk

Job Purpose
The Patient Account Representative is responsible for assisting in the generating and mailing of letters, itemized bills, and other correspondence that go out to the patients.

Duties and Responsibilities
• Scan correspondence and documents into the company's Artiva system
• Complete pending tasks report daily
• Track, update, print, and mail correspondence
• Research and update data in client's applications to ensure accuracy of notes and bills
• Comply with FDCPA guidelines
• Use, protect, and disclose patients' protected health information (PHI) only in accordance with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability act (HIPAA) standards
Qualifications
• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Experience working as a clerk or similar role
• Proficient in MS Office and the ability to learn in-house applications
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize
• Ability to work independently and be resourceful
Working Conditions
• Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to move around the work area; Sit; perform manual tasks; operate tools and other office equipment such as computer, computer peripherals and telephones; extend arms; kneel; talk and hear.
• Mental Demands: The employee must be able to follow directions, collaborate with others, and handle stress.
• Work Environment: The noise level in the work environment is usually minimal.
